My job is…
As a Jr Art Director, my job is essentially to help make sure the art is directed. I’m learning more every day that I’ll always need to think of something new I can do to make sure the art for a given project is headed in the right direction.
Must see, do, visit, NYC/Detroit/Atlanta/Miami things.
Go to a concert at Pier 17! It’s a cool rooftop venue near the water and was one of my best concert experiences.
How do you relax?
I listen to music that sounds very gentle and dreamy and close my eyes which sometimes ends in a calm nap.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by artists, musicians, story writers, scientists and pro wrestlers who uncover worlds, personas and the parts of the universe that might never had been seen without their curiosity and experimentation.
Any tricks that help you focus when working on a difficult project?
I try to keep all of the thinking aspects confined to the beginning of my work sessions so I can turn on an album or podcast and work on autopilot while referring to notes to keep track.
Most rewarding project you’ve worked on at UWG?
Essence festival 2022! I got to work on a lot of visuals and be involved in the process of planning and executing several activations and even graphics for the main stage.
Items you can’t live without
I can’t live without rice and beans. I think I literally eat rice and beans in some form every day.
Work that inspires you
I love to look at branding and rebranding projects. Looking at how visual languages are updated and optimized inspires me in work I do working with brands and beyond.
